In ICE SCREAM 4, J Brown successfully freed his friends Lis Owens, Charlie Owens, and Mike Carter from their cages before they ended up in the Extraction Room. However, Rod appeared at the last moment of their rescue, forcing them to hide by jumping into pipes and becoming separated once again.
Each pipe took them to different locations. In , you will play as Mike Carter, who is taken to the engine room, and J Brown, who remains in the control room.
For , this is the first time you'll be required to play as two characters to solve all kinds of puzzles.
In the opening scene, Rod is furious and curses them because every time he captures them, they manage to escape at the last minute. Despite his failures, Rod refuses to give up, believing that he'll eventually catch them. This is because Rod’s factory is guarded by many Mini Rods, who will alert him if they find any of the children.
In , you will be introduced to four new factory locations: the Hydroelectric Power Station with its underground Engine Room, the Electric Meter Yard, and the Disposal Room. You’ll also meet three new types of Mini Rods: the Window Cleaner Mini Rod, the Prototype Mini Rod, and the Mechanic Mini Rod. The Prototype Mini Rod, created by Joseph Sullivan, is in the Incinerator Room. However, it doesn't attack J Brown, only alerting Rod if it sees him.

The graphics are average, and the immersive experience is somewhat lacking. The character movements are stiff and a bit funny. There are some 3D elements, but it doesn't feel too cartoonish.
STORYLINE & GAMEPLAY
At the beginning of the game, you will control Mike Carter, one of J Brown's friends who jumped into a pipe that took him to the engine room in Rod’s factory.
There are several puzzles that require creativity to solve, but with 'HINTS,' they're not too difficult!
In , you will also learn about Rod's childhood memories and encounter the Prototype Mini Rod created by his father, Joseph Sullivan.
This Prototype Mini Rod won’t attack you, but it remains dangerous as it will alert Rod to your location.
After solving all the puzzles on Mike's map, you’ll need to solve the puzzles on J Brown's map in the control room. This is where you will encounter the Prototype Mini Rod and the Window Cleaner Mini Rod.
At the end of the puzzles, you will control Mike to open three valves, which will unlock a cage containing a pipe. This pipe leads to the control room, where he will reunite with J Brown!
TIPS & TRICKS
- Avoid controlling J Brown first: It's best to solve all the puzzles as Mike Carter before switching to J Brown.
- Throw trash at the window: While heading towards the Prototype Mini Rod, throw trash at the window to trap the Window Cleaner Mini Rod. Aim for the window without a barrier on the left side, or the Mini Rod won’t go towards the fan, and you won’t be able to solve the puzzle.
- Hide in the control room to stay safe: If things get too intense and you’re being chased by Rod or the Mini Rods, your best bet is to hide in the control room!
- Conserve your Electro Gun and Microwave Gun shots: You’ll only get two or three shots, so use one to solve the puzzles and save the rest for Rod. Rod will be knocked out for 60 minutes when shot! Use that time to complete the puzzles.
- Use teleportation: If you don’t mind watching ads, you can use teleportation for each puzzle. This saves time and reduces the risk of failure!

The storyline of Rod is tragic yet captivating.
The presence of Mini Rods makes the game more challenging. Moreover, the fact that Mini Rods can attack rather than just warn is frightening, but it’s a relief that they don’t cause death.
However, there is something strange: when the Mini Rod alerts Rod, sometimes Rod suddenly appears behind you, as if he can teleport. Usually, like in ICE SCREAM 4, we know that Rod spends most of his time fixing his ice cream van in the garage.
Overall, it's an interesting experience from the perspective of Aboz Adventures.
